Napolitano’s Statement on Bipartisan Agreement to Fund Government

February 14, 2019

(WASHINGTON, DC) Today, Rep. Grace F. Napolitano (D-El Monte) voted to keep the government open, issuing the following statement:

"Our bipartisan compromise keeps the government open, giving 800,000 federal workers and their families assurance and peace of mind. It denies the President the wasteful billions of dollars he requested for his wall and moves us toward a more humane immigration system, outlining a path to reduce ICE detention beds and restoring funding for the successful, cost-effective Family Case Management Program. It provides $17 billion in new infrastructure investments, blocks the administration's cuts to our initiatives to protect clean water and clean air, and secures other important priorities for the San Gabriel Valley and nation. I commend the bipartisan House and Senate conferees who reached this agreement and urge the President to sign it."
