September 29, 2010
Press Release

(Washington D.C.)- On Saturday, Rep. Grace F. Napolitano held a government assistance fair at the Mexican American Opportunity Foundation in Montebello, California to help people resolve problems with the IRS, the Veterans Administration, U.S. Immigration Services, and Social Security. More than 100 people attended, receiving free expert advice and working with Napolitano’s staff and representatives from the federal agencies to move their cases forward.

“Take advantage of these services: they are free, your taxes pay for them,” Napolitano said. “My office can help you work with federal agencies by telling you what steps to take and connecting you with the right people.”

“I recently became a citizen in March of this year and I needed help with petitioning for my wife,” said Paul Cerrano of East L.A. “They told me what forms I needed to fill out and explained the whole process to me.”

Constituents who need help dealing with federal agencies should call Rep. Napolitano’s office at (562) 801-2134 or visit www.napolitano.house.gov.
